RATING WORK. CONNECTED.

See what changed.
Find what matters.

Business rates are a tax on commercial property. Rating Radar connects the changes, the valuation and the client work—through to the potential fee.

LESS ASSEMBLING. MORE ASSESSING.

The whole instruction.
Not another isolated spreadsheet.

Rating work crosses lists, properties, clients and years. Rating Radar brings the information and the workflow into one place, so the next action is easier to see.

01 / DISCOVER

Start with the change.
Find the context.

Search by address, postcode or reference. Compare 2023 and 2026 values, filter by property description and investigate the changes that deserve your attention.

  • List-on-list £ and percentage movements
  • Filters to narrow the properties you review
  • Watchlists and selected-row exports
Try list changes

02 / UNDERSTAND

A valuation you can
actually interrogate.

Open the summary valuation, follow the scheme and compare the price used. Keep numerical differences visible without inventing a reason for them.

  • Valuation lines, additions and published totals
  • Scheme members and price comparisons
  • Annual liability and proposed-RV scenarios

04 / PREPARE & TRACK

Give every appeal
a clear next step.

Prepare structured Check and Challenge drafts from the assessment. Keep the proposed RV, evidence and case information together, then track submitted work and the relevant dates.

  • Separate Check and Challenge preparation
  • Property facts carried into the document workflow
  • Submission references, progress and diary prompts

Professional review remains essential. Recording an appeal is not a submission to the VOA.

FICTIONAL CASE STUDY

The point is not six separate tools. It is one connected instruction, with the context carried forward.

  1. 01 / DISCOVER

    Spot the change

    £240,000 → £312,000

A 30% increase between the 2023 and 2026 Rating Lists. A reason to investigate—not evidence of an error.

  2. 02 / UNDERSTAND

    Inspect the valuation

    600 m² × £520

The fictional office assessment totals £312,000. Its price is at the scheme median; context is visible without inventing a cause.

    Model an alternative

    Proposed RV £280,000

    Open Client Hub ↗
  4. 04 / PREPARE & TRACK

    Keep one instruction

    Check → Challenge

Prepare the case and record its progress. A simulated submitted Check enters the forecast; a later Challenge continues the same fee instruction.

    Follow the work ↗
  5. 05 / CALCULATE

    Make the saving explicit

    £48,000 estimated saving

(£312,000 − £280,000) × 0.50 × 3 years. This deliberately simplified fictional factor demonstrates the calculation—not an actual rates bill.

  6. 06 / FORECAST

    Connect work to revenue

    £9,600 estimated fee

£48,000 × 20% instruction fee. At a 30% personal share, the surveyor forecasts £2,880. An estimate, not an invoice or secured saving.

    Explore the fee forecast ↗

The product decision: carry property, client and proposed-value context through the work, while keeping assumptions visible and avoiding duplicate fee forecasts.

A few things worth knowing.

Is this the full product?

These integrated previews demonstrate the product using fictional examples. The separate interactive demo lets you explore more of the workflow. Neither is the national database or a secure workspace for real client records.

Can I use it for client work today?

No. This is a shipped portfolio demo using fictional data, not a production service for client work. Please do not enter real client information.

What does the AI do?

AI assisted the development of Rating Radar. Search, valuation comparisons and the public demo calculations are deterministic; they do not rely on paid AI calls. Automatic floor-plan measurement is a research idea, not an available feature.

Does Rating Radar submit appeals for me?

No live submission integration is offered here. Drafts and diary prompts support a surveyor’s work; they do not replace professional review, the applicable rules or the authority’s submission process.
